Be prepared to never leave your dog alone ever.

Springfield radio host, Mike Holmes (better known as Mike the Intern from 104.7 The Cave), assumed his beloved dog Guinness did while he was at work.

But then one day he put a GoPro camera around Guinness’ neck and walked out the front door. When Holmes viewed the video — one that captured poor Guinness howling and yelping, frantically trotting back and forth from the window to the door with the hope of seeing his master return and finally collapsing on Holmes’ bed to cry — Holmes said he felt terrible.

Though he’s enjoying the viral success of the video, Holmes is still haunted by his dog’s behavior and is considering getting another dog to keep Guinness company.

“I treat him like my kid. And as a human being, how do you feel when you hear that stuff? It was gut wrenching,” Holmes said.

About the star of the video Guinness is a Golden Doodle (half Golden Retriever, half Poodle). He celebrated his sixth birthday on Dec. 17. Yes, Holmes remembers the date. And yes, Guinness is named after the beer.

Holmes said his ex wife bought the dog.

“When we got divorced, the only thing I wanted was him,” Holmes said proudly. “She took everything. I took the dog, which I think I came out on top.”

I am sure my cat isn’t going to react the same as this doggy.
