SHOOTING POSE

Today we are going to talk about Shooting Photography main subjects

From what I learn, its important to keep every pose different and unique, for children you have to manage and maintain the environment child friendly and work on baby time “this means the baby takes control of the time”. A lot of patience and self controlling must be used when dealing with children, especially toddlers since they love to run and explorer things.

With every photographer you must have a check list of what poses you can do for that certain subject, you cant make a 2 year old sit on a chair and pose an adult pose for the camera, because its not appropriate for the child’s age and you are risking that Childs safety by putting him in a chair that isnt leveled with his feet.

MONTHS=laying poses, try putting them in their belly or just laying in the ground with a teddy bear

1,2,3 YRL= you can try and have them craw, lay or just giggle at a toy while you snap the picture

5 to 10 YRL= they become crazy little monsters, wonder around and may want to do things on their own. They can be a pain in the ass I know that for sure.

11 to 17 YRL= a little easier but still in LA-LA land, they will want to spring out an attitude and act like if “LIFE ISNT FAIR” , they will also give you some mad poses and are a little stubborn.

ABOUT ALL THESE AGES MY FAVORITE AGE WILL BE FROM ADULT AND UP, this is because they intend to smile and got a good idea of what they want, you don’t have to struggle or depend on a toy to take the shot. Sometimes the age doesn’t really reflex their personality so you have to create a pose that will show that personality and at the same time shoot for a memory they can always enjoy and share.

I heard from alot of photographers that its hard to create a perfect storyline between

  • WEADING PHOTOGRAPHY
  • CHILDREN

and its a challenge for any photographer because you are dealing with a memory that only comes ONCE IN A LIFETIME and its very important to put everything you got in the line of the client to give out the best in the sales presentation. You have to be VERY prepared when you attend a weading and follow the guidelines that you are required to shoot for. You probably will have a lot of hard time with some photo shoots because alot of the couples will be getting ready in different locations making you drive from one POINT to ANOTHER. Its not rocket science but it sure stressful enough to shoot a million pictures to tell a story so keep that DIGITAL camera in handy.

REQUIREMENTS

At work you are required to shoot at lest 9 poses and give you the best in the last 3, we call these 3 “connection shots” this means that you snap shots of the subject doing something creative or something that connects to the moment. Its just extra poses to connect the rest of the required poses and sell collages or a story board for more money. The process can be difficult when you are dealing with kids. I HATE KIDS!!! They intend to puke, poop, or just cry making their faces red and at the same time pissing the parent off.

So you have to read a lot about dealing with children and how to make them happy “try being a clown” a lot of the kids love it when you hurt other people or hurt yourself “especially boys” so be goofy and have fun in the process.

PAPER FORMAT

After the shots its important to choose what type of photo paper is best for you or your client, if you choose a cheap paper format you mite have do deal with a lot of customer complaints. If you choose a good quality paper you mite find yourself over pricing your photography prints just to make up the difference.

The photo paper i decided to get was “ENDURA paper” because its nice and well printed for the customer. Unlike matte paper, you cant get finger prints or smudge when you touch it and its really hard paper so you cant bend it or rip it that easily. Im not so sure about the cost or what company prints them out in that format, but im sure its not that hard to find them.
