When bringing your personal computer or device to Silvermyst for maintenance or repair, please be aware of the following important details:

Liability and Data Responsibility

  • Silvermyst takes great care in handling devices but is not responsible for any hardware damage that may occur during the repair or maintenance process.

  • We do not back up personal data, installed software, or hidden files. Customers should back up their data before submitting a device for service.

Repair Process and Pickup

  • At the time of drop-off, a Silvermyst technician will provide an estimated completion time. If the timeframe changes, we will notify you via the provided phone number or email.

  • Please ensure you collect all peripheral devices, media, and accessories upon pickup. Silvermyst is not responsible for any items left behind.

  • Service tickets include a 30-day warranty, covering only the same issue. New issues, software-related problems, or device threats require a new service ticket and may incur additional charges.

  • If hardware is purchased through Silvermyst’s vendors, some items may not include a warranty. A restocking fee may apply for returns.

Pickup and Abandonment Policy

  • Once repairs are complete, we will attempt to contact you multiple times for pickup.

  • Devices left unclaimed for 30 days will be considered abandoned. If uncollected within this timeframe, Silvermyst reserves the right to dispose of the device to recover costs, with no refund or reimbursement provided.

Shipping Policy

  • If a device under warranty needs service and the owner has relocated, shipping costs are not covered under the warranty and must be paid by the customer.

  • Full payment is required before an item is shipped back unless prior arrangements have been made.

Device Threats and Software Issues

  • Software issues, viruses, spyware, or malware infections are not covered under warranty.

  • Silvermyst provides recommended security measures at the time of service, but no antivirus or security software can guarantee 100% protection.

  • Safe internet usage, browsing habits, downloads, and email security are the responsibility of the customer.

  • File-sharing programs such as Limewire, Bearshare, and similar software pose a high risk of infection, with 98% of downloads potentially containing viruses. Infections within 30 days due to such use will not be covered under warranty, though Silvermyst may offer a discounted removal fee.

  • If a customer attempts self-repair and later requires Silvermyst’s assistance, subsequent repairs will not be covered under warranty.

Business Impact and External Factors

  • Silvermyst is not responsible for business losses, profit loss, or other consequential damages resulting from system malfunctions.

  • The warranty does not cover hardware or software installed by the customer.

  • Damage from floods, lightning strikes, earthquakes, power surges, mishandling, dropping, or infestations (e.g., insects or rodents) is not covered.

  • The limited warranty does not apply if the product has been modified, improperly installed, or exposed to unsuitable environmental conditions.

  • Any servicing not authorized by Silvermyst will void the warranty.

Warranty Exclusions

  • Warranty coverage is void if the serial number, unit number, or rating label has been removed, altered, or defaced.

  • The warranty does not cover software, sound cards, joysticks, printers, scanners, speakers, cameras, or external peripherals.

  • These components may have separate warranties from their manufacturers, and customers should check with them for support.

Hardware and Component Restrictions

  • Silvermyst takes great care in handling and installing components to ensure quality service.

  • To maintain warranty coverage, no other shop or individual may open, install, or remove internal components after Silvermyst’s service.

  • This policy ensures that Silvermyst can stand behind the quality of its service and workmanship.
