Seems like Microsoft is listening to its users this time by making windows 10 free and easy to get. For the most part it’s still in the development process and making changes to its latest operating system, no doubt they are trying to make things a little bit simple for the user, even for apple fans.
To get the latest preview which is Build 9926 , you have the option to log into the development section of Microsoft website but another way to get it is by going to the windows updates in your computer and choosing to download the preview (Always backup your data before installing another version of windows) Do keep in mind that this will only work with Windows 7 and 8.
For now this method comes with a caveat: a small file is needed. Users go to Microsoft’s Technical Preview page and click the ‘Start upgrade now’ button. This downloads the file, you run it and afterwards you will be prompted to restart your PC. On first boot Windows Update will now show ‘Upgrade to Windows 10’ as an option. Say goodbye to burning DVDs, making USB boot drives and fiddling with bios boot order settings.
Fears about software incompatibilities and performance (though early tests suggest it is every bit as quick as Windows 7) will always alienate a proportion of users. Others simply do not like change, but arguably such groups were never going to upgrade no matter what Microsoft did, but with your help on this version, you are able to send your feedback and watch as Microsoft updates its buggy and features as requested using the windows updates automatically.
There are actually three updates available for Windows 10 . Microsoft recommends that you install one of them—KB3022827 before doing the workaround to uninstall Office first. Then, reboot and install the other two updates. Then, check Windows Update: If all of the updates installed correctly, you won’t need to worry about uninstalling Office. I’m happy to report—for a change—that this actually worked for me, too.
On the latest version you will be able to play with the new Xbox interface, Cortana, and the new Microsoft Store which still needs updates on some apps.
